SCOPE OF WORK
Like for many of us, when COVID hit, my offices closed and I found myself working at home. While I already had an office space in the house, it was unfit for modern use and completely uninspiring to spend my entire day in. Years before, I had painted the walls in wide, pale gray blue stripes and I still liked them. In fact, it was the only part of the room I was interested in keeping.
From a functional perspective, I needed the room to accomodate a large desk, plenty of file storage, and comfortable seating so I had some alternatives to working at my desk and could welcome guests into the room for meetings. I wanted to preserve some flexibility as well for the occasional overflow of guests by incorporating a sleeper sofa.
With a desire for a Hollywood Regency vibe and a pale blue, emerald green, black, dusty pink, and gold color palette , I went to work finding the right pieces to bring my vision to life. From the rug to the chandelier to the art, I couldn’t imagine how much I would love the end product. Now, even when I am not working, my family finds me in this room—it has become a personal retreat. And visitors can’t believe how good file storage can look!
